Note to the teachers :
Learning should be a pleasant journey of acquiring required knowledge to explore in the unlimited environment.
We observe that some of our students find difficult to understand a few concepts and unable to link the concepts learnt to outside the classroom. This may be due to non-ensuring learning capabilities right from class I as their progress in subsequent classes without required confidence. That is why this workshop “ Back to Basics ” aims at the following.
1. Not only listing out all possible learning outcomes for focused skills but also to ensure the same are executed well.
2. Suggesting all practical modes for class organization with variety of tools.
3.The activities are listed out based on one or two learning outcomes. The teachers can plan similar activities in order to strengthen learning process.
4. At the end of every chapter, teachers have to ensure minimum level of learning by adopting appropriate evaluation tools.
5. At the end of every month/term, all the learners need to be strengthened in the concepts covered with clarity. Therefore all the learners are confident in further education. This can be ensured by conducting Learners Achievement Test after completing three or four chapters.
6. Variety of learning tools be devised and tested from time to time with proper evaluation.
7. The focus is to ensure all students sail smoothly in the desired direction.
8. The core in the subject namely understanding of basic concepts, problem solving ability, ability in computation, oral drilling, utility of Resource Room/ Maths Lab etc. are to given due prominence while teaching the subject.
9. Lab activities are to be invariably adopted, wherever required, for strengthening the concepts. This enhances interest and curiosity in the learners towards the subject.
10. ICT mode be suitably planned and used for strengthening their understanding level.
